The Fairphone (Gen. 6)
The Fairphone (Gen. 6) Reviews
Does what it says on the tin. Excellent Android device that looks good and works well. The transparency and ethos of Fairphone is unmatched by other alternative options. I did a lot of research before committing but I'm so glad I did. I was even surprised how quickly I adjusted to Android after c. 10 years being an iPhone user. In many ways it's much much better.
The best phone that was ever produced but not only for ethical point of view. The hardware quality is better than ever. Great work!
Replaced my FP3 with this and it's a huge leap forward. I loved the FP3, but after 6 years it had become too slow. Fairphone continues moving forward and making improvements to both the products and the support and services.
Big fan already. Absolutely met my expectations and exceeded them. Love the concept and the execution. I am a convert.
I bought it with a protectiva case and I have (unintentionally) dropped it several times and it still works.
Sound is not as good as it could be and lack of back button like on my previous Google phone makes it a little clunky to navigate menus. Would be also improved with a more standard type finger print reader. Also I see no benefit of the yellow large slides button it could easily just be don't with an app or on phone digital button. Complete waste of resources.
One of the best smartphones I’ve had, and the main reason is the physical fingerprint scanner. Great battery, amazing storage capacity, and I love that it has eSIM. I don’t see anything critical missing compared to other flagship phones I’ve had previously. The only glitch I noticed is that it struggles to connect to Wi‑Fi via QR code scanning. It might be an autofocus issue; maybe it can be fixed with a software update. A big driver in purchasing this phone was the company’s mission, and I thought there might be something missing compared to the latest flagship phones, but I was pleasantly surprised to receive a decent product—and for me personally, even better because of the physical fingerprint scanner, storage, etc. I used to be a big OnePlus fan, and my last phone was the Pixel 8.
Perfect so far. Does the job. Nice and simple. Small for a phone these days, which is good. Simple design, not overly flashy, and I can easily replace parts, which is at is should be given that I own it.
cant complaxn about the hardware except for the lack of a 3.5mm jack. theres some software instability im sure will be ironed out but its mostly been games and stuff, nothing important. i like how the phone looks and plan to 3d print some of my own battery cover modules which isnt even a reasonable option you can think about on most phones
Hello! I liked this phone a lot, but just a few days after having it, a lot of glitches started popping up, the biggest issue being the screen pressing by itself which created a lot of unpleasent situations, for example; quickly exiting and entering apps, starting calls on it's own, and pressing random letters and sending them as messages :( I'm not sure if i did something wrong, i would really appreciate if you could help me understand if there are some settings i can change to fix this or something else... And i think it's important to mention i didn't have any screen protectors when this bug appeared, and that the device is often restarting by itself a few times a day.
I bought this phone because it is repairable, which means that I should be able to keep it for a long time, meaning it is more sustainable. I was worried it may be a little "behind the curve" compare to other new phones. I needn't have worried. It is much better in all respects than the phone it replaced. The up to date Android works really well with all the applications I am used to.
The best android phone I have owned. I love having so much control and there are so many features!
Lovely phone but the camera is really pretty poor. Particularly indoors the colours are undersaturated, very yellow tinted and just a huge step back in camera from my 6 year old Samsung. The most frustrating thing is that when you open the camera in instagram or lens, where the quality obviously suffers, the colours are absolutely fine. Other camera apps havent yielded better results and are often paywalled. Zooming in on details everything looks painted and is over-contrast. Fairphone just have exceptionally bad camera software. I really hope they fix it but I won't be getting another Fairphone when this one is no longer fixable. It was a massive disappointment for me and I would not recommend buying this fairphone if you expect predictable and consistent quality of photograph, particularly in terms of colour.
Excellent product, a full replacement for the iPhone. I am very positively surprised and recommend it.
Second Fp in my life after six years of FP3, hoping it will last longer. Very satisfied with battery duration and screen performance
Works flawlessly, fast, great camera. I bought it for the ethical aspect, but I'm very happy with its performance too.
A good phone, functions well, and with a good cause to support
Coming from a Fairphone 3+ there's a fair difference, but I do like the FP6 even though there are a few annoyances. I really don't like the flush power button on the Fairphone 6... well, I guess it would be OK if the case I got with the phone made the button easier to press, but it doesn't , the case doesn't cover the button at all. I'd prefer a case that didn't have the cutaway around the power button to be honest. Secondly, I use e/OS/ on this phone (I used the same on my Fairphone3+ as well) and on both of them there's an issue with my phone provider where they only use 4G/5G - VoLTE. It works, the phone rings, but all calls show as unknown. I've suffered this for years and adjusted every setting under the sun - it's not me, it's not the service provider, it's the operating system. I'd really appreciate if someone could investigate this - apparently it's something to do with missing IMS profiles as per this thread: https://community.e.foundation/t/activating-volte-on-fairphone-6-results-in-unknown-caller-id/79416/21
I love my Fairphone – its ethical design, beautiful color, and high-quality build really stand out. It’s easy to use, and I enjoy customizing its features to suit my needs. (I also really appreciate the attentive support I received throughout the delivery process.)
So far I've found my fairphone to be great, reliable, durable and a high quality device. I very much appreciate it when companies care enough to build sustainable products that don't cut corners. I love that it's a company I can trust. I don't need to worry about planned obsolescence or wonder if I would lose warrantee if I repair something. I know not everyone cares about that, and the thing is, since this product genuinely is a very high quality one, you don't need to feel like you are sacrificing anything. The added sustainability can be treated as a cake topper. My only request to the team would be to (also) make a device that's smaller. The phone's too big for my hands 🙂. The finger grip helps to some extent.
Taking the power back. Loving e/os as well. Feels so much calmer.
Only after a few hours of work, the phone started to restart randomally. Sent back the phone under the promise to get a new one. But they only replaced the main borad (argubaly). The problem returned again after a few hours. Returned the device. Shame...
Hello Chiko, thanks very much for bringing this to our attention. We’re so sorry to hear about your experience. We can see you already created a support request, and our Support Team is currently helping you. Best, Laura
I have had a Samsung Galaxy for six years and decided to switch to Fairphone. Took a while to get used to it but it's an excellent phone. Superb quality and I would definitely recommend.
Hello, I got new hearing aids..phonac brand immediately after getting my fairphone. I chose Android for compatibility am having difficulty with bluetooth phone calls and have checked with my audiologist. The line drops very soon after connection and the phone answering tap system doesn't work ..the set up has reverted to inactive. Have you had other similar complaints? Is there a hearing aid brand which works better? I enjoy the phone otherwise and your philosophy but this is a bit of a deal breaker
Got the Fairphone 6 a couple of weeks now. It's just brilliant. Especially the battery lifetime. Don't have to buy a new phone for years with the Fairphone
A product that has sustainability in focus and is just as good as phones from other more childish companies such as apple for a very good price. That is why this should be supported! I am very happy with my buy.
Easy to use. Nice to handle. Fits nicely to the hand.
It's sturdy, reasonably priced and was easy to transfer my old phone stuff to. With the five year guarantee, replaceable parts and use of recycled materials, I think it's going to last. (I had my old phone for five years, so hoping to have this one for longer.) It does everything I need it to and the screen saver feels extra glidey in a good way, and seems to stay a lot cleaner. My only negative is that as a left handed person, the way I've set up the buttons, I sometimes take accidental screen shots just be l by picking the phone up.
I have bought Fairphone 6 last month and I'm a very happy user. I love this device and what the company Fairphone mission.
I like the eco-friendly, fair-salaries part of its story and the modularity relaxes me. But I am a bit skeptical that the CPU inside can last 7-8 years and keep the same experience. We'll see. Until then, great job 👍
Overall I'm fairly happy with my new Fairphone 6 Android (soon I'll switch to /e/OS) but I'm surprised at the large quantity of little bugs, like the screen not responding and not great rendering of a 3D maps app I use (my old iPhone SE 2020 has smoother and sharper graphics). But I support the project so here I am. Please make the next phone have a no-tools hot-swappable battery! And a decent pair of wired earbuds would be nice.
It's nice, maybe missing really fast charge. Using LinrageOS.
Funziona perfettamente, non è ingombrante né pesante e il prezzo è adeguato: proprio quello che cercavo.
The only criticism is the lack of a headphone port. The Audio & Charge Adaptor I bought is rather bulky. I listen to the radio/podcasts to get to sleep and I don't want to use fairbuds for this.
I’ve been using the Fairphone Gen 6 for a few weeks and it absolutely deserves a five‑star rating: its modular design lets you replace any part in minutes, the ethically sourced materials ensure a responsible supply chain, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset delivers smooth performance, the battery easily lasts a full day, and Fairphone’s commitment to at least five years of OS updates guarantees long‑term support—all while being backed by an EU‑based company that prioritizes European privacy standards and sustainability, proving you don’t have to sacrifice quality or style for ethical responsibility.
Qualcosa da migliorare: vibrazione debole, controllo vocale della fotocamera ("scatta") o con gesti Per il resto ottimo prodotto.
I bought FP6 3 weeks ago. I expected some issues because this isn't a mainstream phone but to my surprise the phone works smoothly, the battery is OK and the clean android OS (no vendor-specific UI) makes it a great choice. I hope it will last long as promised but it looks very robust.
Phone is pretty good, easy to use with current android system. However the screen can be a bit unresponsive at times so I can't give it 5 stars
Had it about 4 weeks - very easy set up/transfer and easy to use. Battery recharges fast and easily two days life. Very happy!
Build quality is excellent. The only disappointing thing from hardware side is that the yellow switch slides too easily so it can get enabled inadvertently. Software (Android) has some little issues but nothing major.
I was used to a small phone so the passage to fairphone 6 size was a bit traumatic. I'm slowly getting used to it, but I still yearn for a lighter phone. Other issues I found: - Very feeble vibration, almost imperceptible. Lots of lost calls in quite mode. Didn't find a way to set it. - No leds. So if I get messages or other notifications, I don't know until I actively open my phone. - When I press the standby button, it happens often to press the buttons on the other side of the phone, so I currently have the gallery filled with the picture of my screen. This does not happen with phones with buttons on the same side. I really like the ethics behind this project, the repairability and overall the phone is very good, but these little details are a nuisance in everyday life.
I support the principles of the fairphone and it does mostly everything I want from a phone. It is smooth to use, the loudspeakers are good, the video quality is great. The only issue I have with it is the bluetooth compatibility with my earphones. This might be due to them being from a somewhat obscure company but overall I highly recommend the fairphone.
great usability. A bit unfortunate the position of the volume buttons. Else, an amazing and sustainable phone.
I'm not really a big user of data. Let's say I use the smartphone for anything except to watch series and I take very few pics or videos. But I can say this FP Gen6 offers some improvements compared to my old beloved FP3. The quality of the camera is way better and of course it surfs on 5G. The touch screen is better (but I don't know if my FP3 just got old). Ergonomics are as they were for FP3, no surprise, with one more button : I'm not yet familiar with the "essential switch", is it really necessary? Don't know. Anyway, I've always been a great fan of the FP, from the beginning. My FP3 lasted 6 years and still does the job, but I've no regrets for having switched to the FP Gen6.
Everything works as it should. Getting this phone was a good choice.
Overall, I'm quite pleased with this phone. Out of every smartphone I've ever owned, this one has the most aesthetically pleasing design by far. For the most part, it just works, no major complaints. There are some things that I find a bit bothersome: - The placement of the volume buttons relative to the power button is very awkward, I often end up taking accidental screenshots whenever I try to unlock the phone the phone or put it down. If it were up to me, I would have probably switched the Moments switch and the volume buttons so that both the power button and volume buttons would be on the same side. - Lack of USB 3.0 is a bit of a bummer, but not a huge dealbreaker. - Not sure what the root cause is, but I tend to experience occasional issues with touch recognition while scrolling in apps like X/Twitter, and sometimes when I receive a notification while the phone's screen is off. Unable to provide more detailed information as this doesn't happen often to properly diagnose the problem. - Several days ago I was watching some videos on YouTube and noticed that the phone stopped connecting to my Wi-Fi router for some reason. I checked the settings, and the phone couldn't even provide a list of available networks to connect to. I restarted the phone and it went back to normal. This only happened once, could've just been a weird anomaly.
The speakers are kinda bad, they sound like you are listening through a metal tube. The fact it doesn't have a headphone jack doesn't help… otherwise a very solid device, it does all phone things you'd expect with no hiccups.
Overall, the Fairphone 6 is a solid device. Smooth and responsive, it’s an everyday companion for common tasks. Photos are good enough, and you can tweak several settings. It runs Android 15 and comes without any crazy (and mostly useless) preinstalled manufacturer apps. Probably the only weak point is the battery. If you use your Fairphone for light, everyday activities, it will last the whole day (or even longer). But if you play games, take lots of photos, or do other demanding tasks, you’ll likely need to recharge it more often than other phones, even with Battery Saver enabled. All in all, I recommend Fairphone, one of the very few devices that can genuinely be called sustainable, thanks to its certifications and its repair-and-replace strategy.
I love the repairability and the modularity, and I've already 3D-printed a few parts. I'm tired of wasting phones every one-two-three years, so Fairphone embodies my new needs. Feature-wise, it's nearly on par with my way more expensive Pixel phones. If the camera hardware and app catch up with the main players (even better if I could upgrade the camera without buying a new phone), this is on track to become not just my favourite phone, but my entire family's mobile ecosystem.
Big improvement on my fairphone 3 - seems worth the investment. Very glad that FP are maintaining their ethical and environmental standards. Better connectivity (eg Android Auto) is a big help also. White right side button to activate is cumbersome for me as I'm left handed - but hoping by switching to fingerprint or face recognition I can solve this
I want my money back and to return the device. I've already had it repaired once as it arrived unable to charge. It stopped charging again 7 days after repair. I haven't had a proper response about my refund and return only a holding message. I want my money back asap.
Hello Bex, thanks very much for bringing this to our attention. We’re so sorry to hear about your experience. We can see you already created a support request, and our Support Team is currently helping you. Best, Laura
Fairphone in itself is great, as always. However, this time, I miss the main menu with the bottoms for home and back. Just swiping is annoying.
Bought for the ethical policy, but regardless of that, its a nice phone, fast at processing, great camera, retains charge for almost a couple of days, decent price compared to competitors.
Bought my phone about a month ago and very happy with it. Build quality feels great and it's easy to use. Very happy with the camera too. I also really like the Fairphone Moments feature.
I did not put 5 stars because the OS crashed several times
I've used it for almost a month now and I'm satisfied by the product. There's only 2 small things that I'd like to be différent : the unlock button on the side should be in relief a bit because with the protection case it's sometimes difficult to reach it with one hand. And second thing is that the tactile screen is so sensitive (I have a screen protector from Fairphone on) that really often when I scroll I accidentally click. Aside from that it's a great smartphone and I'm glad I purchased it.
Really great mobile. Incrementally better than the FP4 but the important increments.
Good phone as daily driver. Important feature: long support and warranty. Android version
apart from very minor bugs, I love it and can't wait to see how it will stand the test of time :D
It's a decent phone but touch sometimes goes crazy and camera is borderline terrible. Audio is ok,design is great except for volume button positioning
Hello, we’re really sorry to read that you had such a challenging experience. If there is anything we can do at this point, do not hesitate to reach out to us via https://support.fairphone.com/. Best, Laura
Volume down opposite the power button means I'm collecting screenshots now and I'm not sure what to do with the yellow button if I don't want to be mindful. No idea about repairability as it's not broken yet.
It works just like any other phone I've used which is exactly what makes is excellent. It shows what Fairphone is trying to do actually works. Next excellent thing is the Warranty, have never had similar Warranty for my previous phones and none of them has lasted as long as the Warranty for Fairphone.
I'd like to leave it a 5-star review because Fairphone managed to made a decent, usable phone that works day to day. In the interest of truth, I'll go with 4 stars, though I still recommend it to a very broad audience. The good: feels quite snappy, gives me some decent photos from the main front and back cameras (reviews made me expect less, but it's good or better than my previos mid range Samsung), it charges very fast, I feel less shackled by the vendor (can uninstall things like Facebook, couldn't on my Samsung ..), the groove at the bottom of the back is surprisingly ergonomic, I'm happy to be using an eSIM, have a place to stick in my 0.5 TB uSD card and I absolutely love the repairability, the possibility to automatically stop charging at less than 100% charge and long-term SW support. I also like that the company reaches out and checks how it's going. The bad: panorama mode only works with the phone in vertical orientation, is pretty basic and I'm not impressed with its low light performance, "flip up" to turn on the screen doesn't work, can't double-tap on the wallpaper to turn the screen off and lock the screen, battery life is OK, but not as refreshing as I expected from a new phone with a smaller screen than my old one, I'd like to set the battery charge threshold to 90%, but the only options are 80 and 100%, I miss my 3.5mm audio jack and while not a big deal, it's slightly bulky (though expected and not extreme), I kind of miss the possibility of playing music to 2 BT audio devices at once. Although there's nothing critical, there are a number of weird glitches or factory settings, as well. Flipping up my locked phone sometimes turns the screen on, sometimes it doesn't (it should). Doubletapping to turn on the screen also feels finnicky, though maybe I'll eventually get the hang of it. The grid for the lock pattern feels way too large and can't be resized, when I use a BT keyboard, switching between windows seems climsy and buggy, mirroring my phone screen to the Mirascreen dongle on my TV just doesn't work, by default I could not see who's calling me (easily changed, but what kind of a default is that???) etc. Nothing serious, a bit annoying and in part expected, though I hope the rpugh edges will be somewhat polished as time goes on.
Really great product, easy to set-up, not too much bloatware, good size with long lasting battery!
I love the phone how it looks and it works and performs great. I am getting used to not taking screen shots when locking the phone!😀.
I love the easy repair and cheap price. Great battery. Some thing don't work so great example I switch the moment switch to the torch and sometimes I does not start. The wifi reach is not the greatest. The screen don't like the cold, I was outside in -10 to -20°C you have to tap hard on the screen . But It is from a fairly new company and it's ⅓ price of flagship devices so something has to be a little bit wurst.
It is incredibly disappointing you have never once replied to my requests of support on an issue I found on my newly purchased Fairphone. I am honestly stunned by such lack of care from a company claiming to be challenging the status quo.
Hello, thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and the delay in receiving a response from us. I'm so happy with my new phone! I got it because I love the values of the company, but the mobile is really worth it. It works perfectly, super smooth, and I also love the camera. The design is also incredible. Super soft and very stylish. Thanks for doing this, you're doing great.
In general, the Fairphone does work properly but sometimes it takes too long to answer to basic commands.
I've had no problems yet :) Only the zooming thing, but a software update fixed it. (not used to that on Motorola...)
Had a Fairphone 3 for over 5 yearsThe 6 has definitely made a difference especially the camera
The fairphone delivers a great modern phone with all capabilities anyone would need while being sustainable and made in the EU. The ability to repair the phone gives it a long life that makes the upfront cost worth it.
All good, very fast, good responses, battery life great. Just the position of the volume buttons is inconvenient - I always make a screenshot when trying to lock the screen. They should not be placed in the middle of the phone.
The phone seems generally cabapble. But it has crashed on start-up once. Every few days I hear a snap-crackle in the speakers which I cannot relate to a particular app. And sometimes the phone seems slow or unresponsive to touch. At this point, I am not sure if I would buy another one, or pursue a different sustainable alternative.
Semplice il passaggio dei dati e contenuti, sistema intuitivo e ottimale. Bella grafica, fluidità nei comandi. Mi sto trovando molto bene in questi primk giorni di utilizzo.
Easy to use and much more performance than the version I had before. Keep improving your sustainable phones.
Great phone, good specs, sturdy build and lightweight. Got the "Googled" version, out of habit. Might have chosen the de-googled one if I had more knowledge about the alternatives.
Wonderful device with a responsive rock solid OS (Murena OS)
Fast, large and really nice smartphone with good camera and very long lasting battery! No flagship highend but anyhow technically up to date device. What I miss is a higher protection class against dust and water and wireless charging. Not so nice: The volume buttons are very uncommonly in the middle of the left side of the device. This is making problems with most smart phone holders clamp at this position. So now they are activating the volume button and if you then press the on-button the device will go into root-menue which is confusing during driving! Also the position is exactly the point where you need to hold the phone with the forefinger when using the thumb on the on/off-button. This is creating unwilling screenshots which is also anoying. There is a reason why nearly all other phones have their volume buttons at the upper left edge of the phone. Feature: Additional customizable switching button. Very helpfull to use the Fairphone as flashlight!
As a private person a phone with the option to have an OS that does not pry into everything of mine, but still operate all of the usual apps is amazing.
Great phone, looking good so far. Good photos, excellent signal, clear instructions
Got it to replace my dying Oppo A64 (was literally falling apart) with the only expectation of a good phone but also good reparability, so far it has delivered beyond these expectations, all my use cases work incredibly well (light gaming, messages, watching videos and reading, ofc the occasional trip with GPS and the like). The phone perfomns better than expected across the board, is very durable and feels very resistant. I recomend this phone to the grand majority of users, the price is worth it, can feel a bit steep but you will see it's true value as years pass, that's how I feel.
Perceived quality is really good. Everything runs smooth. The device is open for custom ROMs like /e/os, iode or LineageOS. Fairphone also tries to release as much source code as possible. Size is very similar to the FP3 which is perfectly fine. I personally would prefer much smaller phones, however no brand provides that.
I really like having switched to a Fairphone, it's very practical and functional. Since it is a fair phone I don't expect it to be luxury quality but I was a bit disappointed by the poor sound recording quality of this phone. Although the other features blew me away completely, I was surprised to see improvements in camera, performance and usability compared to my old phone! There is room for improvement of course and I'm here for it! Thank you.
Brilliant phone, standard android OS, I like it ..
Placement of lock and volumen buttons makes for a few too many screenshots. Also I hoped for better battery life. Other than I quite like it, including the switch on the side. Love that one.
I thought this phone was going to be very good on repairability, but just average on the rest of things. And I was very gladly surprised to see that it exceeded my already high expectations. Just pure android is very pleasant when used to other android phones
I wanted an upgrade to my Pixel 6a, which was dying after just two short years. The battery was kaput and so was the USB port. Phones are not mayflies. I wanted a phone that would last a decent time. I am sick of our disposable culture. So I bought a Fairphone (gen 6). I've only had it a few weeks, but so far, so good. The OS is clean and not full of crapware. The migration was no more difficult than any Android phone migration. The phone feels snappy and everything works well. I particularly like the fingerprint sensor: having it on the side results in a much more responsive sensor than the pixel, which has been poor for me since they integrated the touch sensor into the screen. Overall the phone is very slightly on the chunky side, but it feels great in my hand and I'm more than happy with the quality. The difference is negligible compared to less repairable phones. Supposedly the camera quality is not all that, but I'm not much of a shutterbug, and as far as I'm concerned, the camera is good and I'm happy with it. Overall, if you're on board with the Fairphone philosophy but are skeptical of the implementation, then don't be. Take the plunge, the phone is good and it delivers on its promises.
The phone I purchased has a nice green casing which is better than the black that is so common. That it runs Android is another plus because there is support available within the household from another Android user. However, consider how it would have been without that support? As an elderly 'Wrinkly' the tiny on screen text is useless. It needs to be big enough to read. Having been guided to Settings the size was increased successfully. Looking at file manager all the boxes (what happened to icons?) now have text that is too big for the boxes and is thus unreadable. Never mind, there is the Fair Phone app which will probably have a new user guide. Once it was working properly we started at the beginning; 'Turn your phone on and off.' That took us onto a long section about how advertisers use one's data and privacy settings. Fotunately the next section "How to download Apps" was actually all about that topic. Wallpaper and sound personalisation required a login to an account of some sort. Making calls and sending messages was all about that topic. Similarly Language settings was about that topic. The scanning a QR code was also on topic as was Screenshot, etc. Find and change settings looked promising too. However, the instruction workrd but only led tp Internet, Bluetooth, Torch and Do not.. The second swipe instruction alo worked but overall gave a very limited rang of settings. It was discovered that a side swipe led to a couple more setting screens. Using the Settings icon on the home screen and then the 'tap anything' search method seemed to realise a whole lot more adjustable parameters. We even got rid of the night screen. To do other stuff like adding apps we seemed to be entirely tied in to Google. Indeed the whole of this initial setup period has been one of various organisations insisting one creates an account so they can monitor what one does with this phone. We should perhaps have gone for the Google Free option. As yet we have still not found out the function of the big yellow button on the top right side of the case. We love the philosphy behind the phone which is why we bought one, but it would be nice if it was more focussed on the needs of the non-Android expert so that a hughe amount of time is not required to find out how everything works.
I was excited for the purchase, and after 8 days the usb-c port stopped working. Buying, waiting, disassembling and reassembling a fairphone are expensive efforts that one makes willingly, thinking they're worth. I am happy with materials and certifications, as well as the warranty policy, but it is unacceptable that after 8 days I have to purchase, wait and assemble malfunction piece that is fundamental to the phone. Moreover, one buys the phone because it's supposed to be easy to fix, and the battery removal is needlessly complicated. I have many friends happy with older models, this comes as quite a let down for me. Bitter experience
After 2 years of use, I changed my Google Pixel 6a because of connectivity issues. I realised every cell phone I had used was lasting less years than the previous one, so I decided to do something to change this trend. I saw the new Fairphone was smaller than the previous one (a must to me) and invested more than ever on a new cell phone aiming to a 5 year use. We’ll see. The android use is almost the same to the one on the Pixel, I like the camera and function in general, but I’m not using the Fairphone moments switch as expected, plus I don’t like the design of the external buttons, as the main button on the right to switch the phone off is opposite to the volume buttons, so many times I press both at the same time taking a screenshot…, and it is not only because of their position, but also because the fingerprint button is aligned with the side of the phone, without relief, so it is not that easy to press it. On the other hand, I saw that it is possible to activate the screen touching it twice. This reminded me of a feature my old LG G6 had, “toc toc”, so it was possible both to turn the screen on and off this way. It is a shame that the Fairphone doesn’t allow to turn the screen off also with the double touch, because this could be a way to avoid taking not desired screenshots.
While I'm still in the process of getting it fully operational, the first weeks have been great with the new phone. Shipping, activating the extended warranty etc. were quick and easy. Camera, optional bumper case and card holder are great, battery time tops, favourite apps (banking/wallet, gaming, browsing...) runnung smoothly.
I was an apple user and it is really easy to go from apple to fairphone
Great phone, looks good and is a similar size to the FP3 but a little lighter. I like having an ethical choice of phone that works as well as top commercial brands.
Coming form an old Samsung, the Fairphone 6 is pretty good. I like it's design the button layout. Fingerprint sensor is pretty good, however the default case get's in the way of it sometimes. The 'switch' is pretty cool, however I wish it would get a bit more customization options. Camera is decent. I dislike that they don't have a dedicated security chip like most other modern phones and I wish that they would support GrapheneOS for their next generation.
Todo genial. Rápido, fácil y seguro. Llevo dos semanas con él y de momento cero pegas.
A very good product, and it’s reassuring to know that the materials are sustainably and fairly sourced.
Only had it for a couple of weeks, but fast, good screen, camera seems good.
