Getting used to a new phone is never straightforward if one is not digitally native. And changing back to Android has made it more taxing. But, the Fair phone 6 feels good in the hand and the physical features are good. I seem to be able to use it as I am accustomed. I feel I am going to be a happy Fair phone user

Really good so far. Everything works well and the size of the phone is perfect. Only thing that lets it down is that the camera is not as good as I was expecting

I've had the Fair phone for a couple of weeks. I just use it for fairly basic stuff like email, and calls on Teams. I've been very happy with it.

I have had the phone for 2 weeks and the phone is quite nice. Starting with the software, its a bit limited. It is basically stock android with a couple Fairphone apps, Google suite and Linkedin. Since these come pre-installed you cannot remove these. Given that this is a company that gives you the option of to install a different os to de-Google your life I expected less bloatware and more dumb apps. I've actually read they are working on it, they are already making a dumb gallery and I hope they do the same for notes. I also would have expected to come pre-installed with PlayStore and F-Droid with all the de-Google shtick. On the hardware side the screen is very nice and the special switch is a nice addon although I wish it was programmable the fingerprint reader is on the side which made it a bit weird at the start since it was hard to find and I was used to underScreen but after 2 weeks I had already gotten used to it although from time to time I still unlock it while putting it into my pocket. Cameras are quite nice, on pair on most high end. What's not on pair and is actually extremely bad quality are the speakers, listening without headphones on this phone is horrible. I actually still use my old s21fe for speaker music. And while on the topic of music I wish it had a headphone-jack. You supposedly are the fair company, keep the headphone jack. I also expect when buying a phone from this company that they will have good support to keep my phone long term which is part of the value. So, in all a decent phone, as long os you do not need the speaker quality you will probably like this.

No issues yet, is exactly as I expected. Good size, battery, screen. Camera not amazing but no worse than advertised :)

I upgraded to the FP6 after my seven year old FP3 began to give up the ghost in ways that couldn't be repaired. The new phone is exactly what I've come to expect from Fairphone; solid, reliable, and made to last. The new colours are also nice (I got green, although I might have gone for blue if I'd been two weeks slower and ordered after the FP6+ was announced!) I won't need to replace my phone again for a good few years. The only major disappointment for me was the lack of a second SIM slot, which was something I used heavily on the FP3, but the ejectable SIM slot makes it possible to swap out SIMs without turning off the phone, which is a plus

The phone is responsive and works well. I'm happy it's sustainable. I recommend it

Fairphone 6 is a good, well designed smartphone: responsive, reliable, nice to the touch. Just two main flaws: sometimes, rarely, the touch screen fails to recognise some taps or swipes. Moreover being lefthanded I end up taking a screenshot instead of blocking the screen with the power button: the buttons are just in the right position to be pressed together.

it would be excellent but I took a video of a concert and the audio was terrible. I don't know how to make it better

This is my second fairphone and I love the company and what it stands for. I'd not consider getting another phone. Having said that though, my phone is a few weeks old and having glitches such as apps crashing or the screen not responding properly, and I'm not sure why that is.

This is a great phone, right size, right price, great power. It has some glitches sometimes, and the fingerprint sensor gets pressed involuntary. The face recognition is a great feature to unlock. I like the integrated design of the card holder. I hope it lasts as promised, and I'll keep it for many years.

I received this phone just over a month ago and it is now at the point where I am probably going to have to do the second factory settings reset in two weeks because it gets stuck in Modes and then totally crashes so that the home screen is totally blank and I can only access apps via Settings. I have dropped it a couple of times, but that shouldn't be causing this problem, and I've never before had a phone where this happens

Reason for buying Fairphone. Long guarantee, longer support and security updates, unlocked boot loader. My old Fairphone 5 will be degoogled, for general use. Probably e/os. My new FP6 will used for apps you cannot escape.

The "back" button at the bottom of the phone (on the left on previous Fairphones) has been removed. This makes navigating very challenging at times. There isn't a centre button at the bottom either so moving from one open app to the other is not easy, nor is it easy to close an app. I cannot access widgets or the hidden apps, on the Fairphone 5 you could just swipe up and they would appear. All this makes what should be a great phone very disappointing. If something isn't broken, don't fix it!!

I have been using my new phone for several weeks and although now used to it I find the layout of the physical buttons extremely poor. The volume e down button is so low on the mid point of the left side that it invariably gets pressed when placing it in a cradle to use in the car. I have had to use an app to partially disable it but even so it will now sometimes make the phone shut down. Also being opposite the awkwardly recessed power button I am still repeatedly taking unwanted screenshots when just trying to turn off the screen. The yellow switch (I've selected it to operate the flashlight) is really just an unnecessary gimmick which makes it necessary to make the gap in the protective case even larger. The camera does take good quality pictures far better than the FP3+ but I would have much preferred a telephoto lens than the portrait sensor.

Liking the improved camera over FP3. Also generally more responsive. I haven't really tested out the phone to full yet though. Givenergy app and one banking app were the only problematical ones with logins not transferring. Otherwise the transfer of data from the old phone was straightforward. I particularly like the ability to have the SD card as the default location for photos. (This may have been possible on the 3 but I never managed it.)

I bought this phone a month ago, and am very happy with it. It's especially good to see a phone company seriously concerned about the environmental and social issues related to its product.

Very happy with the product - both with the product per se, but also with the entire idea behind Fairphone - to be easilly able to replace and fix it instead of buying a new one. It would be even better if it were composed of EU-only parts, but alas this is not possible right now. But who knows, maybe this will be an option one day too - I would certainly be willing to pay extra.

There's some significant downsides to this phone. The button placement makes taking screenshots constant and awkward, adaptive brightness doesn't work, and if you mount the phone in a car holder to use it for navigation, the holder presses the buttons and puts the device into the operating system's boot menu. My phone case broke on the same day I got it. I respect the ethics of the company and I would probably buy again, but some functions are really sub-par.

I'm modestly happy with my purchase, I think it could be improved ergonomically (the power button's opposite to the volume and screenshot buttons is particularly awkward, and the cover is slippery). The audio is a bit tinny, and the camera could also be improved. My choice was obviously driven by ethical considerations, but cell phone use is so pervasive in our daily lives that it's difficult to adapt to an uncomfortable device.

It works well, it's well manufactured and brilliantly shipped. But the lack of notification LED is not convenient.

The phone never arrived. There was problems your end with exports issues and I’m still waiting for a refund. Very disappointed

Great phone. No bloat on hardware and software side. There are a few minor things to improve especially on software side. For sure it will better improve when more people buy it.

Great phone easy to use and set up. My previous fairphone lasted 7 years I fully expect this to do the same if not longer.

Much quicker than my old Fairphone 3 and screen more sensitive

After a month of use, the biggest disappointment is the battery. I bought this phone for hiking, but it often doesn't last a full day, even with light use. I accepted the camera wouldn't be great, but Fairphone's claims about battery life haven't matched my experience.

I bought the Fairphone 6 with great enthusiasm after using my Fairphone 3 for more than five years. I only replaced it because it no longer received software updates, so I had high expectations for its successor. Unfortunately, the Fairphone 6 has been a disappointment so far. Even when it's connected to Wi-Fi, many websites won't load and some apps simply stop working. The only workaround is to turn Wi-Fi off, let everything load over mobile data, and then reconnect to Wi-Fi. I end up doing this 10–20 times a day, which is exhausting. After looking into it, I've also found that this seems to be a recurring issue affecting other users. I still believe in Fairphone's mission and hope this can be fixed with a software update, but right now I'm seriously considering returning the phone. That's not a decision I expected to be making after such a positive experience with my Fairphone 3.

I bought this, because of your announcement that my FP3+ will no longer receive security updates. Planned obsolescence from a company promoting sustainability is quite concerning, but I did bite the bullet and upgraded to the FP6. From the first moment on I can say I hate the FP6. It does not have a 3.5mm headphone socket, so my 20 year old trusted and good headphones are now obsolete too. It does not have an LED message light and simulated lights like NoLED or LED Blinker eat battery faster than you can watch. I now have a phone without headphone socket and LED message light, requiring me to constantly press a button to see if there are new messages. It then continues with the completely useless yellowish slider switch, which is completely pointless as my phone is always set to minimum intrusion anyway. I have reconfigures the switch to turn on the flash light as a torch, so it does at least do something halfway useful. Whoever came up with the idea to put the volume buttons exactly opposite the power/unlock button deserves to be sacked. It is practically impossible to press the button without also pressing one of the volume buttons on the other side when holding the phone with one hand. I had to turn the screenshot combination (power button plus volume up) off in the settings as the phone kept taking screenshots constantly. Overall, I can only say that the FP6 is a massive step backwards from the FP3+ in terms of design decisions and if Fairphone wouldn't have forced me into this upgrade I would 100% prefer to continue to use my FP3+. I will now try to install e/OS on my FP3+ to see if I can give it a new lease of life and be able to continue to use it. I will probable then sell my FP6 second hand and try to forget the experience with it and never buy again from Fairphone.

Replacement for my trusty 6 year old Fairphone 3 which was end-of-life. I got a loyalty discount because of that. So far it's been just like my old phone but a bit faster, love the green colour. Hope to be using it for many years.

The display does not respond properly to touch I receive incoming calls whitout reasons I cannot change the "moment" screen, that is useless There's s no space for a second sim card

In general happy with it. Having some weird issues with connection where i have bounce airplane mode to regain connectivity in some apps while others still have connection

The user interface bottom bar is unintuitive; I would prefer the back/home/applist buttons. Otherwise everything is smooth and the battery lasts long.

I've just received the Fairhpone. Still not used too much, but for the moment it seems to be a very good device.

I have been asked to review the above phone but in spite of paying for it in mid-June it still hasn't been dispatched.

3 weeks after ordering (and paying) I still have not received the phone

I love my new fairphone. I had my last one for over five years so it didn't make sense to get any other phone. And the camera is great on it!

Previously, I had a FP4 so the jump to FP6 is significant and it is taking a bit of time to adjust. As I am in my seventies this phone has been designed a much younger generation. For me it is too clever for it own good so I have disabled some of the fancy stuff to make it more usable for me. However, it is fast and much lighter. The screen is crystal clear and easy to read. Much more sensitive to touch. Easily repairable. What is there really not to like!

Bought a week or so ago, just needed it because 3+ no longer supported. Has annoying pop-ups, but that's probably the OS - google.

The phone is working well so far although it's only had light use.

I used to be a big advocate. Now I'd advise people not to get a Fairphone. Every feature I liked about the model I used until out of support has been removed. I am bitterly disappointed.

Phone rebooted itself 10+ times a day. Communication for sending it for a refund was terrible, with replies either not happening or taking days. Still waiting for a response on whether my phone has passed customs. Was advised a customs invoice wasn't needed, then UPS messaged me asking for one. A long, arduous, time-wasting, frustrating experience.

It is very refreshing to buy a product and be reassured that it will last, paired with the repairability, I can't fault it.

Exactly what I expected, no major difference from any other Android phone. It is good to know my money went to the right place, makes it easier to swallow minor inconveniences like the button placement.

Hasn't been a month yet, but it is a performant and reliable smartphone, with the added repairability and sustainability perks. Recommend. I feel it's a bit heavier than modern standards, but I got used to it quickly and it's still comfortable.

The Fairphone 6 has been a great upgrade and is super smooth to use.

I switched from an iPhone to a Fairphone and I feel like I have been released from the shackles of iOS restrictiveness.

My six year old Fairphone 3 was still working perfectly and doing everything I needed it to so when Fairphone announced the end of support for it upgrading to the Fairphone Gen 6 was a no-brainer.

I have moved from a 3+ to a 6 Fairphone. Most things are much better but there's a couple of "features" that are not: - Ergonomically the positioning of the "off" button and the volume buttons exactly opposite one another means that I frequently accidentally press a volume button while trying to press the off button. - My 3+ had a small blue indicator light at the top that could be used to signal pending notifications in a completely unobtrusive way. This feature should have been kept. - If you use multiple "screens", as I do, you can no longer just have an empty one, you have to have at least one app icon. Why ? The phone on the whole though works really well, the wide angle camera is a great addition and macro is just so much better. The speed of connecting/disconnecting to the wifi is so much better and so on. I shall enjoy the new phone despite a few niggles.

Despite a recent update, some apps still take ages to open, if at all (seems mainly when connected to WiFi). 3G/4G/5G signal also has difficulty reconnecting when moving out of a poor signal area.

I love the phone! It does everything you need, with lots of storage and it runs quickly. My only wish is that the camera quality was better, particularly for videos where they typically lag. Also there is a glitch in which when viewing an app you have search for and clicking on it results in the opening of the app at the beginning of the alphabet. Despite this, it is a phone I'm excited to own for a long time.

So the initial setup was fine from my Google pixel. The banking apps refuse to use face recognition only fingerprint.had a serious issue yesterday when neither Sims would not connect most of the day, worked fine in my old pixel mobile. Sorted with a software update.

I'm glad to have been a Fairphone customer since model 2, and to see it grow. The technical quality now is excellent, and the phone is a great competitor to anything on the market. Incredible quality and durability for the price, definitely the direction the industry needs to take

I've been using my Fairphone for almost a month and I'm quite happy with it. Values wise it's great, I like the idea around it all. Functionally, I have a few kinks after being used to previous phones worked. Maybe it's just getting used to it. It's still a bit big for my tiny hands but much better size tha previous phone and light in my pocket!

The volume button placement is problematic and causes the accidental presses.The green switch has limited utility. There was substantial issue that the right button by default was gemini ai instead of power options like expected

I bought my phone on the recommendation of my son. It's worked flawlessly and stays changed for a long time.

I don't think it's a bad phone by any stretch, but considering its price, there are a few major issues that my last phone, the Fairphone 3, just didn't have despite being older. Firstly, the lack of a headphone jack. 100% would not have bought this phone had I realised it didn't have one. Secondly, putting the fingerprint scanner in the power button is a design flaw, since when you hit the power button you can end up immediately unlocking the phone again because your fingerprint is already on the scanner. Third, and this is particularly egregious considering the claimed goals of fairphone, the phone requires an unusual screwdriver to open and repair, yet doesn't come with said screwdriver. I would flat out not recommend the Fairphone 6 to anybody, even friends who are big on right to repair and sustainability.

There's few minus points on the phone design: personally I don't like that the fingerprint reader is on the power button. If I just want to get the screen on I have to push power button on different finger then that what I added to unlock my phone, otherwise it always unlocks my screen. -Also I don't like that the volume buttons are right opposite side then the power button. I constantly mistakinly take screenshots when accidentally pushing also volume button when I try to push power button. -The "yellow" button should be roughened on the surface, now it's too slippery. -Phone is little bit thick, but after using it now couple of weeks, that doesn't bother me anymore. Overall, I wanted to buy a Fair phone and that's what I got and I'm happy with it. Hoping it's gonna last years with me 🙂

I decided to abandon my Fairphone 3+ because I received an email that stated there was not to be any update on this phone. I am trying to adjust to the new Gen. 6. It's faster than the 3+, but one thing I am certainly not happy about is the battery. I charge to 80% and it does not last 11!2 hours.

it's great! i don't need a phone with bells and whistles that just does the basics well and this is what this is. interface took a bit to get used to but that comes with switching phones.

Phone is glitchy. Camera doesn't take pictures sometimes. Slow to take pictures when it does. Front camera often leads to a blank white photo? Screen freezes, need to put on standby and unlock screen again. Multiple times a day. Wi-Fi disconnects regularly, common issue I've read about this phone. Audio from videos sent to me plays on phone speaker instead of loud speaker. Battery life poor. Generally, poor phone. Wanted this phone to be on par with the less environmentally and socially friendly competitors.

I paid for this a month ago and it didn't arrive. Very difficult to get the attention of anyone at Fairphone to resolve the issue. When I did they agreed it had been sent to the wrong address, but two weeks after that they will still not refund me.

Software support was non existent. Actual support to address issues was non existent. Hac to initiate a Visa chargeback because of refusal to engadge by ANY Fairphone staff after repeated attempts.

I have returned my Fairphone 6 for repair a couple of weeks after I bought it because the charging port failed. I had also noted whilst typing that the phone was glitching a bit. I am disappointed because I had thought this would be a robust phone that would last for years. I am hoping it was just an unusual defect and that I won't have any further issues.

Working great for me with /e/OS installed. Bye Google! Good cameras, good everything so far.

I've had my Fairphone for seven years until it needed replacement due to the 3G grid being taken down. The new gen 6 is just what I expected, in a good way: a familiar and reliable product. The only "downside" is some of the changes to the screen navigation that I found to be less intuitive than I would have wished for, but it's not serious enough that I can't get used to it. Over all, a great product!

Upgrade from FP3 to FP6 6 weeks ago and it seems a significant improvement, a great experience so far.

Generally very pleased. Volume control buttons are in the wrong place so lots of accidental screenshots taken.

This phone looks and feels great, is fairly priced and the longevity is a huge plus, but it has two issues: 1) on android, it can take up to a minute to load content on some apps, Trainline and Google workspace apps are common culprits. 2) The cameras are a bit lacking for its price point, photos have a noticeable blur, but if better cameras are released you could swap out. I do recommend this phone and do intend to keep this for the long run, but it does need some work to make it great.

My old Samsung of 6 years finally died, and when I went to go shop for a new phone, everything had AI features baked into it. I looked around and found Fairphone, and I love love love the phone. It does what it has to, and does it great. Not five stars, because the button placement makes screenshotting too easy-- I take maybe 3-5 accidental screenshots a day. Also, the Moments feature is too easy to work around, and if you've already have apps open beforehand, you have to close these before the phone really is in lockdown. But I like the feature of having a physical switch I can use for something else.

I loved my Fairphone 3, and was happy to upgrade as support was being withdrawn after 6 years. The Gen.6 has massively more resources but keeps the long life and repairability. Not sure about the change of mechanical and on-screen buttons, but I'll get used to them.

I'm not a fan of the buttons! The unlock button is flush with the case, making it unnecessarily difficult to actually press. This is exacerbated by the placement of the volume buttons, which are directly across from it (i.e., where you naturally hold the phone while trying to press the unlock button). The one saving grace is that the fingerprint sensor on the unlock button is excellent. I haven't found much use for the switch. If it were up to me, I would swap the location of the switch with the volume buttons, because you slide the switch instead of pressing it. That said, I'm sure I'll get used to it and I've no other compaints. The battery life is good, the screen is clear and responsive, there's plenty of storage, and the cameras are great. I got the finger loop and I quite like it.

Mostly the phone is fine, but there is one big issue: the fingerprint recognition is unreliable. It took ages for it to capture my print and once captured it has been an unreliable way of accessing my phone. Sometimes it recognises me but now it does not work at all.

The phone is great the only issue is that is incredibly easy to randomly take screenshots thanks to the button layout

It's a very agile device, easily customizable and with a good performance.

I am very happy with the quality and usage of Fairphone 6. My usage is perfectly covered, network is good, the phone is quick and the battery lasts 1 day and a half. AI usage is also perfect. The audio quality is medium, I got better phones from the same range, but not terrible. Playing games needs to configure the game to low specs, but I don't play much to test it properly.

After my Faiphone 3 my new Fairphone 6 is just as great. It has all the same credentials plus all the new developments to work really efficiently.

I am happy with my Fairphone 6 I like the design and many of the features on it it's just that some of the apps that I need to use on a daily basis are not working which is a concern for me and rather frustrating. If this could be fixed I would give the phone a five-star rating. So far I have had to install, uninstall, reinstall and re restart my phone numerous times in attempts to get the apps to work and some of them still do not open, in particular my security alarm app
