At Fairphone, we are striving for more than just carbon neutrality. Our mission is to prevent CO2 emissions at their source and rigorously reduce any emissions that do occur. We’re committed to creating a sustainable future by taking proactive steps today. Here’s how we ensure we avoid CO2 in the first place:

For unavoidable CO2 emissions, we aim to reduce them to the bare minimum. How do we do this? In a variety of ways. We always push for low-carbon manufacturing, which means the use of renewable electricity in manufacturing our products throughout the entire supply chain. It’s not just us, this includes our sub-suppliers. We choose cleaner logistics, transitioning from air freight to ocean freight. We use more recycled & low-carbon materials, this goes a long way in reducing emissions. When it comes to our products, we prioritize innovative low-carbon design. This entails reduce the end product’s power consumption, along with minimal use of carbon-intensive materials. We are decarbonizing our corporate offices as well, by using 100% renewable electricity and green gas for office heating.
