Our new podcast: Right to repair, e-waste & interplanetary travel

All

Here at Fairphone, we believe that caring for people and planet should be a natural part of doing business. Together with an amazing network of changemakers, we’re disrupting a short-term way of thinking that the world can no longer afford. While the Fairphone is a physical expression of the possibility of change, it also happens to be a great storytelling device that connects us with inspiring innovators from all over. It’s time to share their stories with you.

Welcome to FairTalks: a new perspective on how we’re changing the electronics industry.

Join our host (and circular innovation lead) Miquel for a series of interviews with the luminaries of sustainable tech, as he brings you a little closer to our world, helping you understand all the ins and outs of making the electronics industry fairer.

You can also follow the podcast on Spotify >>

For the first episode, Miquel sat down with someone who knows a thing or two about longevity and repair: iFixit Europe’s CEO, Matthias Huisken. Over the course of half an hour, the conversation twists, turns, and goes to some unexpected places – covering everything from e-waste, the right to repair, and even interplanetary travel.

“If our technology is smart, yet we remain oblivious of its inner workings or its social and ecological effects, how can we claim that we’re evolving?” – Matthias Huisken

With this new format, we want to build a deeper understanding between people and their products, driving conversations about what “fair” really means. As we dig deeper, we’ll include our community each step of the way.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on our conversation with Matthias, feedback on our first episode, and who you’d like to hear from in upcoming podcasts. Leave us a comment on the episode or join the discussion on the Fairphone forum.

Six Ways Refurbished Can Be Better Than New

Let’s do a quick drawer check. How many old unused phones do you have lying around the house right now? Old electronics stack up over the years, collecting dust and taking over our drawers, cabinets or boxes. Eventually, this quiet flood of maybe-later devices spills out of our homes and becomes part of something much...
