• Research and development with our Android software engineers on the infrastructure behind the test automation on (Android) devices, like ATS/OmniLab or LAVA. • Contribute to extending the hardware of the test lab setup, for example, for automated device recovery, ensuring reliable test environments, etc.

The Fairphone Software Engineering team is seeking a senior Android Telephony & Qualcomm Modem Engineer to redefine device longevity. In this role, you won't just maintain a device; you will architect a more sustainable future for mobile technology by extending the lifecycle of our hardware up to 8 years. You will be the technical anchor for our Telephony and Radio subsystems, bridging the gap between Fairphone’s hardware and the Android OS. Your mission is to master the complexities of the Qualcomm proprietary stack through nearly a decade of Android upgrades. High-level responsibilities:

• Integrate and maintain the Android operating system on Fairphone devices.
• Apply expertise on the Android telephony stack and Qualcomm modem firmware on smartphone SoCs in order to implement the continuously changing requirements of network operators, as well as Fairphone’s own telephony-related requirements, maintaining features across upgrading Android system and modem versions.
• Analyze mobile network operator (MNO) partner requirements and features and translate these to corresponding technical specifications for our software stack, specifically with respect to technologies such as 5G and IMS (VoLTE, VoWiFi, RCS, etc.)
• Implement software fixes for specific challenges. Work together with quality teams and testing partners to validate proposed fixes and to ensure integrity of the overall operating system.
• Drive continuous improvement in software quality. 

Key technical areas for which this role carries responsibility:

• Qualcomm telephony stack on Android devices: Implementation of evolving network operator specifications and Fairphone’s unique telephony requirements. You will be responsible for the architectural integrity of these features, ensuring seamless functionality and high-performance connectivity as you bridge legacy and modern software baselines across 8 years of Android OS and modem upgrades.
• Android operating system upgrades: Contribution to the software engineering activities needed for upgrading the devices to newer Android version with a focus on the technical stacks such as Qualcomm’s modem firmware, Android telephony framework, Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL)/Radio Interface Layer (RIL), the Qualcomm proprietary software stack that bridges between the Android and modem firmware.

You work closely together with our account managers to build the country strategies and our commercial partnerships.

• You are responsible for building and running a strong, engaging channel marketing strategy for our B2C sales partners, which you track and optimize accordingly.
• Plan, develop & evaluate marketing activities with our partners across their channels, such as online presence, store activations, and paid visibility on partner channels. 
• Plan, develop and potentially lead training for our resellers and their salesforce, as well as through our agencies.
• You are responsible for pushing sell-out through planning and executing quarterly plans, as well as establishing a successful long-term relationship with the key accounts.
• Provide commercial partners with the right level of brand and product information and consumer insights, in close collaboration with internal teams.
• Work closely with the internal creative team to develop materials and creative assets for your marketing plans.
• Analyze and report on key marketing KPIs from resellers.
• Ensure accurate and timely budget management.
• Lead partner events/industry fairs in your territory. 
• You work in tandem on the country plan with the Account Manager(s) for your territory.

• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German and/or Swedish.
• You have 5-7 years of relevant experience, preferably in trade marketing or an equivalent marketing field.
• You have experience in the consumer electronics industry in Europe, preferably in the smartphones or audio category.
• You have a passion for marketing, understand the role of sales and marketing channels, and you’re up to date with the latest industry trends.

As Technical Delivery Manager for New Product Introductions (NPI), you will lead the end-to-end delivery of product development for smartphones, audio devices and/or accessories. This role is all about managing the technical process by which Fariphone’s consumer electronic devices are designed and developed. This includes managing timelines, risks, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment to ensure that overarching business objectives are met. As part of the Strategic Delivery Office, you will also play a key role in promoting continuous improvement and building organizational capabilities, to drive consistent, high-quality project outcomes throughout our organization.

Key objectives

• Drive Strategic Project Execution

Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex, technical and cross-functional NPI projects, from concepting and supplier selection through development, go-to-market and launch.  Ensure timely execution, effective risk management, and alignment with organizational goals. 

• Strengthen Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

Champion best practices, drive process improvements, and strengthen project management capabilities to support long-term organizational growth, adaptability and cross-functional collaboration. Provide standardized tools, frameworks, and support to enhance consistency and quality across all initiatives.

Key responsibilities 

• Drive the delivery of New Product Introduction projects, spanning one or multiple business lines and involving stakeholders from a variety of disciplines.
• Own the full project trajectory: define scope, success criteria, and ensure timely execution and delivery. Capture learnings for continuous improvement. 
• Lead day-to-day project operations, including resource coordination, chairing meetings and tackling (technical) bottlenecks. 
• Manage project risks, ensuring accurate assessment and timely mitigations. Use proper lines of escalation when and where necessary. 
• Report (and coordinate reporting from others) to stakeholders and senior leadership on milestones, decisions, deliverables, risks, dependencies, and issues. 
• Mentor colleagues to enhance overall delivery capabilities and organizational maturity. Establish and uphold project management best practices, tools and policies across the organization.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field
• 10 years of working experiencing, including 5+ years of experience in project or program management for product development in the consumer tech industry
• Track record in developing and launching physical products at a global scale (regulatory, localization, ramp-up)
• Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall methodologies and tools
• Strong communication skills in English (oral, written); preference for candidates that are also able to communicate in Mandarin

Skills:

• Deep understanding of NPI stages: concept, feasibility, prototyping (EVT/DVT/PVT), ramp-up and launch
• Strong technical and analytical skills to understand constraints and work with project contributors to evaluate trade-offs in both product and business objectives 
• Ability to proactively identify risks across design, engineering, supply chain, quality, and certification trajectories
• Experience running scenarios and modeling delays and mitigations (for example, design slips, sourcing issues) and able to coordinate between technical and non-technical teams

This role is specifically designed for a channel-growth expert who understands how to navigate the German B2B Reseller landscape to reach Enterprise and Government clients. Here’s the Challenge
As our Business Development Manager for Germany, you will be at the forefront of shifting the mobile industry from a "disposable" model to a "durable" one. Your mission is to prove to German enterprises that sustainability is not just a moral choice, but a superior financial strategy.
From day one, you will lead the expansion of our B2B reseller network, positioning Fairphone as the premier solution for companies looking to lower their Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) through device longevity and repairability. You will act as a strategic consultant to our partners, helping them show their clients how Fairphone directly contributes to achieving ESG targets and complying with the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LKSG). Your responsibilities

• Reseller Management: Prospect, onboard, and manage a network of B2B resellers, VARs (Value Added Resellers), and IT service providers across Germany.
