We care deeply about what goes into our devices and what doesn’t. On one hand, the Fairbuds 2 contain 48.6% fair and recycled materials by total weight, including recycled plastics and rare-earth elements. What is definitely not in there are PFAS (or per- and polyfluoroalkyl) substances, also known more commonly as "forever chemicals." These are widely used in consumer electronics for water resistance and coatings, but they persist in the environment and accumulate in ecosystems over time. 

The Fairbuds 2 have been officially audited and certified as completely PFAS-free by SGS, a globally recognized testing, inspection, and certification company. The audit specifically verifies that all plastics and silicone materials that come into direct contact with the user's skin are entirely free of these forever chemicals. Why is this important? Because this eliminates risks regarding toxic chemical exposure through the skin, which is particularly relevant when sweating during workouts or warm weather. This makes the Fairbuds 2’s IP54 rating even more impressive, proving that you don't need persistent harmful chemicals to create durable, beautiful, and element-resistant everyday tech.
